The Revolution Begins: Unveiling the 1964 Plymouth Barracuda - A Classic that Defined an Era .

This 1964 Plymouth Barracuda is finished in red over black and powered by a rebuilt 273ci Chrysler V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine has been overbored and features solid lifters, rebuilt cylinder heads, a 4-barrel carburetor, and electronic ignition system. The seller has owned the car for four years, and in that time has installed new shocks and tires as well as refreshing the braking system. This Barracuda is offered with a spare set of wheel covers, records from current ownership, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The body has been repainted in red, and the seller notes a bubble on the left rear fender lip and another on the roof above the driver’s door. These areas are shown in gallery close-ups below along with other blemishes.

A 273ci LA-series V8 was reportedly rebuilt with a .040″ overbore, a forged steel crankshaft, rebuilt cylinder heads, solid lifters, a 4-barrel 500 cfm Edelbrock carburetor with a manual choke, electronic ignition, and more as seen on a handwritten build sheet in the gallery below. An oil change was recently performed. A 4-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The seller notes difficulty shifting from first to second gears when the transmission is cold.
